Tips for Selling Your House Faster

Yard Maintenance - What's the first thing potential homebuyers see when they approach your house? The answer, the outside. Maintaining a clean, maintained yard is an inexpensive way to provide more value to your home. Mow the law, trim the bushes and plant a few flowers.

Get Rid of the Clutter - Nothing is more unattractive in a house than clutter. Get organized, toss out the old or have a yard sale. If you can't part with any belongings, simply store them in your attic or basement.

Paint - A fresh coat of paint will go far in adding appeal to the interior of your home. Try adding a popular color to the kitchen or living room. This will make the room look fresh and new.

Inside Updates - Take a walk around your house and determine if any small items need replaced. Cabinet knobs, door knobs, outlet covers and hinges are a few to consider. Also, be sure to check the light bulbs to make sure all are in working order. To go a bit further, consider replacing outdated light fixtures.

Repairs - Make sure any minor repairs are complete. If there are major repairs, consider offering the Buyer a credit.

Set Your Price Right - Take a look at previous houses that have sold in your area. You can also use Zillow's Zestimate feature to get an idea of your home's value.

Marketing - Be sure to create a flyer of your home for potential buyers. Take a video tour and post it on YouTube. Post your house for sale on your personal Facebook page. Also, posting on Craigslist is a popular way to post a house for sale.

Last But Not Least, Clean - Make sure your house is ready to show. Wipe all counters down with cleaner and make sure the bathrooms are in clean condition. Make sure your carpet is vacuumed, hard floors are swept, floors are clear of clutter and beds are made.
